Daily Drops runs a calendar of daily offers on your Shopify store: one door opens each day, with a discount, a free gift or something to read behind it.

Setting up your first calendar

1. Install Daily Drops from the Shopify App Store and open it from Apps in your Shopify admin. Building calendars is free.
2. Create a calendar. Give it a name, choose its look, its dates and its time zone — each door opens at midnight in that zone.
3. Choose the gifts. Tick the offers you want behind the doors — or let Daily Drops suggest them — then pick the products each one uses.
4. Build the plan. Daily Drops arranges the offers across the days and drafts the wording. Nothing is created in your store yet.
5. Approve every day. Check each day's offer, value and wording. Approving a day creates its discount code or gift in Shopify; a calendar can only be published once every day is approved.
6. Turn on the Daily Drops app embed. On the calendar's page, use turn it on: it opens your theme editor at App embeds. Switch on Daily Drops and click Save. The embed puts free gifts in the cart and shows the calendar on its own page.
7. Put the calendar on your store. Create its store page with one click, add the Daily Drops calendar block to any section of your theme, or share the calendar's link.
8. Publish. Choose a plan when you publish, and your customers can start opening doors.

Questions

How does a customer use a door?

Today's door opens to show its offer and a code. Apply code and shop puts the code on their cart. Doors for later days stay locked — their codes are never sent to the browser early.

Why wasn't a free gift added to the cart?

• The Daily Drops app embed must be switched on in your theme (step 6 above).
• The cart must carry that day's code — the door's Apply code and shop adds it.
• The order must meet the gift's condition, such as a minimum spend or number of items.
• Gifts work only on their own day, in the calendar's time zone.

What are the “Gift wrapping”, “Sample pack” and “Mystery gift” products?

When a day gives one of these and you haven't chosen a product of your own, Daily Drops creates a hidden product for that day so the gift can go in the cart. It is Unlisted: it doesn't appear in your collections, search or recommendations. Please leave it in place while the calendar runs; changing that day's offer, or deleting the calendar, removes it.

Can I change a day after publishing?

Yes, until that day's door opens. Open the day, change its offer or wording, and approve it again. Days that have already opened stay as they were.

Which plan do I need?

Plans are set by your store's sessions a month, as Shopify Analytics counts them: Up to 50K sessions at $49.99 a month (up to 50,000) or Up to 250K sessions at $99.99 a month (up to 250,000). Every plan includes every offer and as many calendars as you like, one running at a time. If your store grows past its plan, Daily Drops asks you to move up — your calendar keeps running. How do I cancel?

On the Plan page in Daily Drops, any time. Live calendars go offline when the plan ends; your drafts stay. To remove a calendar's discount codes and gifts from your store, delete the calendar first.
